If the painting has "fuerza" ( as they say in Spanish )- strength of execution and composition - combined with sensitivity - pulling the viewer in to look more closely, to contemplate - then I am satisfied.

These top paintings are representative of the direction that my paintings are going now. It began with a winter landscape that I didn't like and so I turned it sideways. Then its snowy sky became its color field, or background (on two sides), leaving the shape in the center that is part landscape and part human. So far the white color field "background" is an integral part of all of the new paintings and has come to visualize a multi-layered/multi-colored white peace and light.
